Welcome to summer! This edition of Impact shares news of our library summer hours, a new flashcard add-on for UpToDate, test prep for NAPLEX^®, a featured title for Pride Month, and the upcoming Rutgers University Libraries homepage redesign. Enjoy!

Summer Hours

From June 30 to August 19, both George F. Smith and Robert Wood Johnson Libraries will be open on a summer schedule.

• Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
• Friday: 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

RWJ Library Hours:

• Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Friday: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

UpToDate Adds Anki Flashcards

UpToDate now features Anki flashcard integration, useful for studying for the MCAT, USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, and Board exams. The UpToDate for Anki add-on promises integrated, accessible, and evidence-based content at your fingertips.

NAPLEX^® Prep through AccessPharmacy

Information and Education Librarian Matthew Bridgeman provides a video introduction to NAPLEX Central, a comprehensive resource for pharmacy students preparing for the NAPLEX exam.  

Part of AccessPharmacy, NAPLEX Central features: 

• An interface that mimics the NAPLEX exam
• Timed, full-length exams (225 questions)
• Score predictions
• Detailed breakdowns of your strengths and weaknesses
• Various response formats, including multiple choice, multiple response, ordered, constructive, and hotspot

A Featured Title for Pride Month

LGBTQ Pride Month is celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals have had on history. Collections Librarian Maria Deptula provides a video introduction to "Understanding the Well-Being of LGBTQI+ Populations," a 2020 report produced by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. This book provides recent data related to sexual and gender diverse populations in the United States.

New Rutgers University Libraries Homepage

Rutgers University Libraries is redesigning its homepage to better meet patrons' needs and enhance their online experience. The new page is scheduled to launch on Monday, July 10, 2023.

3. Faster access to library hours
4. A dedicated section for frequently used services and resources

6. A new feature area highlighting timely news and information
