Programs and Services

Today's Virtual Rutgers Day activities have been brought to you by the Rutgers Division of Continuing Studies (DoCS).
DoCS serves lifelong learners from preschool to retirement. DoCS is the central continuing education unit at Rutgers, coordinating hundreds of credit and non-credit programs and enrolling thousands of students. DoCS provides learning opportunities for individuals across the lifespan in face-to-face, hybrid and online formats. 

Teaching and Learning with Technologies (TLT)

TLT's involvement with the development of online learning has a direct impact on lifelong learning. Whether you are taking a non-credit course or pursuing a degree, online learning provides flexibility, 24/7 accessibility, and the ability to work at your own pace. Online instructors make a range of resources and tools available to students such as video, library resources, simulations, and group projects that enhance learning and expose learners to a range of content.

Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID)

GRID, a unit of TLT, has a mission of Building innovative games, immersive technologies, and engaging experiences to improve education and our communities.

Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education (CMSCE)

The Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education (CMSCE) provides professional development for K-12 educators to enhance science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teaching and learning.

Office of Summer Winter Session

The Summer Session at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is one of the largest summer programs in the country, offering more than 2,500 courses, internships, and research/travel-study opportunities to fulfill core or major/minor requirements and boost your resume. The smaller, immersive winter term is ideal for continuing study in subjects that require practice, such as foreign languages and public speaking.

Rutgers Makerspace

Transforming imaginations into reality through experiential learning and making.

The Rutgers Makerspace provides resources, both physical and educational, for users to learn and develop a vast variety of making skills, including 3D Printing and Design, Digital Fabrication and Manufacturing, and more traditional making methods like woodworking and sewing. The Makerspace also serves as a resource to incorporate experiential learning and making elements into existing curriculum across the University.

  • What is Rutgers Day?

    Rutgers Day is a day of learning, exploring, and fun. Join us for science experiments, demonstrations, readings, contests, and more, all from the comfort of your home. Our faculty, staff, and students are working hard to prepare exciting virtual programming for you to enjoy.
    For more information about Virtual Rutgers Day, contact the Office of Community Affairs, 848-445-1921, or rutgersday@rutgers.edu.

  • 1. Launch Minecraft by clicking Play.

    2. Click on Multiplayer.

    3. Read online play warning and click Proceed.

    4. Click Add Server

    5. Fill out our signup form to obtain the Rutgers Minecraft IP address.
    Copy that address into the address field.

    6. Click the Rutgers Day server and then click Join Server.

  • 1. When you spawn in the world, you will receive a book!

    2. Right click to open the book. You can click on where you want to go. You can use this at any time!

  • 1. Launch Minecraft and click on "skins" on the upper left corner.

    2. Click on "+ new skin".

    3. Click on browse and find the folder you downloaded from the loot box section above.

    4. First select the skin you would like to use in that folder. Then click "open"

    5. Type in a new name and then click "save & use". You are now ready to explore!!
