Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research Regional Community Advisory Board Referral
Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research is seeking individuals who are identified as community organizers, advocates and/or leaders to serve on one of three Regional Community Advisory Boards (Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey). These boards will be instrumental in supporting community outreach and recruitment efforts to support research initiatives that aim to improve health and well being and address disparities in NJ populations.  

The members of the Regional Community Advisory Board (RCAB) will meet bi-monthly and will be people who work with diverse populations such as:
Individuals representing diverse populations, including African American/Black, Asian (Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Japanese, Korea, Pakistani, Vietnamese), white, Hispanic/Latinx, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ, urban and rural areas, veterans.
Organizations and entities that work with diverse populations, including social and family services, libraries, faith-based groups and institutions, education providers, prevention initiatives, victim services, homeless shelters, health care providers and community wellness programs, grassroots groups, social justice initiatives, social clubs, sororities/fraternities, and local businesses.

The goals of the Regional Community Advisory Board:
Expand research recruitment efforts within diverse populations to achieve a greater understanding of cultural variations in the impacts of social, family, and behavioral factors on health.
Explore individual and family differences in health needs related to psychological, biological, and economic outcomes in New Jersey populations.
Sustain community partnerships through networking, exchange of resources, and collaboration on outreach and engagement activities such as regional town halls, community forums, focus groups, health fairs, and training opportunities.
